Settings not stored

Post by der_kaputte »

Hi,
I use the apps with the "Sound ON/OFF"-function. But the settings were not stored. If the app launches next time, the sound is always ON.
This failure comes aprox with the new version of firmware. Have U already see this?

Hi.

In our test, the sound ON/OFF works fine with the latest firmware. To enable or disable sound, you need to wait until music ends and then press and hold the screen until you see a message box. This is because we disabled all screen interrupts until music ends to avoid exceptions from the SPIFFS libraries.

In which watch are you experiencing this problem? Or is it happening in all of them?

The problem was on all predefined apps with sound-support e.g. startrek, harry potter, super mario.

UPDATE: I tried to remove most of the files. after a new "update" all works fine for now.

We think the problem is that you were running out of SPIFFS space. MP3 files may take up so much space and therefore there was not enough space to save the new watch settings file in JSON format. The new firmware is a bit larger than previous one and this could cause the problem of SPIFFS not enough available space.

In the newer versions you can check your available SPIFFS space in watch Settings - Information - Storage

Unfortunately the SPIFFS is too small for program and data together
