Wifi connected - but not saved

Post by andycore »

Hey guys!

Need your help. I'am following the instructions, and provide the correct password for my local Wi-Fi. After my password was checked,
I am going and press "Set".
Unfortunately, this Wi-Fi is not saved, and when I press the main physical button, Wi-Fi section is being lost. Also, I am unable to proceed with registration my device in web page.

Have you any idea what can help?
Thanks a lot,
Andycore

Hi,
How many WiFi appears selected If you press the "Change" button? Is there any selected?
If you open the "Settings/Files" app, is there a file named "/wifi.json"?
With another WiFi the problem persists?

I have the same problem.

Same symptoms, and no files are listed when "files" is selected.
All local wi-fi networks seem to be found when "scan" is selected.

Tried it on two different LANs, same result.

Please, can you post the Watch serial output when you select the WiFi setting?

To do this, simply connect the watch to the PC using the USB cable and run an app like Putty (https://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgt ... atest.html) with a 115200 baud rate.

With this info we can evaluate a solution because with our models does not happen

Immediately on connecting to serial and turning on:
"rst:0x1 (POWERON_RESET),boot:0x13 (SPI_FAST_FLASH_BOOT)
configsip: 0, SPIWP:0xee
clk_drv:0x00,q_drv:0x00,d_drv:0x00,cs0_drv:0x00,hd_drv:0x00,wp_drv:0x00
mode:DIO, clock div:1
load:0x3fff0018,len:4
load:0x3fff001c,len:1044
load:0x40078000,len:8896
load:0x40080400,len:5816
entry 0x400806ac
E (3865) SPIFFS: mount failed, -10025
mkdir failed
failed to open config file for writing"

That seems as if it might be relevant?
checking what happens with wifi connection now...

Thanks

This is an error when the firmware tries to open the "wifi.json" file for writing the credentials. Maybe is not formatted.

Code: Select all

  File configFile = SPIFFS.open(WIFI_FILE, "w");
  if (!configFile) {
    Serial.println(F("failed to open config file for writing"));
    return;
  }
Please download the new firmware 1.0.5 that formats the SPIFFS if it fails and try again.

Please let us know the result.
